Courageous Survivors is a growing family of people whose common vision is to help adult survivors of sexual trauma. As a team, we work to bring the best information, offer the most useful resources and make available the beneficial support that we need.
We rely on volunteers to keep our services running and to expand our reach to as many survivors as possible.

Non-profit Board Members
We are currently looking for a Secretary for the Courageous Survivors Board. Our Board continues to drive the organization’s vision. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in joining.
Website and Social Media
Maintaining our site and our other on-line presence takes a lot of work and we are always looking for people who can help us.
Whether you are an experienced Web Designer or someone who can check our content, we have plenty of opportunities for you to help us. This is a great way to be part of Courageous Survivors even if you only have the occasional hour to devote to it.
Here’s some examples of where we need volunteers to help:
Researching and writing articles for publishing on the Website
Checking/proof reading new site content to find errors and to ensure appropriateness
Researching potential resources for our library and responding to requests for linking
Dreaming up new ways to use the Website to provide support to survivors and helping us implement them
Managing our SEO to ensure we are reaching as many people as we can
Monitoring comments and feedback to ensure we are responding to what people need and removing any inappropriate items
Managing our Social Media to make sure we are responding to requests and to ensure our presence is always safe and supportive
If you have access to the internet and some time to give, we will find ways for you to get involved!
Fund-raising and Events
Raising funds is always crucial for Courageous Survivors to achieve our vision and there are almost no limits to how much help we need.
Here’s some examples of where we need volunteers to help:
Researching and recommending ways to get donations to support Courageous Survivors
Dreaming up new, fun and creative ways to generate donations
‘Spreading the word’ - encouraging people to use whatever means they can to help Courageous Survivors
It takes a lot of work to organize events and there is always room for anyone who can, to help. Whether it is a booth at a local event, a virtual gathering or a Courageous Survivors event, we need you!
Here’s some examples of where we need volunteers to help:
Researching and recommending local events which would benefit from a Courageous Survivors presence
Working with event organizers to schedule and co-ordinate
Helping us design and bring to life our own events - on-line events as well as local events - for survivors.
Support Groups
Mutual support groups provide crucial emotional support, information and resources to help survivors recover from the many challenges we face. There are, unfortunately, not enough of them and some can be result in re-traumatization when not properly guided. A large part of our mission is to find quality groups to provide survivors with effective and safe support.
Here’s some examples of where we need volunteers to help:
Researching existing support groups for survivors of sexual abuse and/or assault
Helping to find qualified speakers for both virtual and in-person meetings, to provide educational and supportive topics
